The pearl and jade market building is several stories high and has nothing but Jewelry type items. There are over 400 vendors in there. We bought Myah a pearl necklace and earrings. We will give them to her when she gets older, perhaps for her wedding. We picked the pearls and they made the necklace. It was fun to watch them as they knotted the thread between each pearl! The cost was 1/3 of what it would be in the USA.
We went to a Jade store, but we opted not to purchase anything there! Michelle, one of our travel mates tried on a jade bracelet and it was a trick to get it off... you can see that they put a plastic glove on her. Her hand hurt after she finally got it off.
In the Embroidery Shop we purchased a few trivets. You will see in the pictures for today some beautiful pictures. The one with flowers would take 1 person a full year to make this picture! I did not ask the cost, but I am sure that it was quite expensive.
The last store we went to was a music and movie store. There we purchased a cd set of children's music. We listened to the 1st cd and Myah loved it. She clapped and danced along with the music. I only recognized a couple of the sons. 2 more cd's to go. The other thing we purchase there was a movie of a popular kids show here in China, that is about a goat. I am anxious to watch it. They said that there are English subtitles. We shall see.
We had to wait a bit for the bus to be back to pick us up. We stood and sat around and visited with the other families in our group.
And then some were really relaxed on the bus ride back to the hotel.
We got back to the hotel and I rested a bit before I went to do adoption paperwork. I THINK THAT IS THE LAST PAPER WORK TO DO!!! While I was gone, Jeff, Alexander and Myah went to 7 Eleven. Tonight Alexander was not feeling well, so Jeff got some take out and we have been hanging out in the hotel.
So that is our day! It was good, and nice to be lower key that most of our days have been. Our little Miss Myah is doing better and better every day. I was able to change her diaper and get her dressed this morning without a fuss. She really prefers Jeff to carry her when we are out, so we that is what we do. While in the room today she has sat on my lap, played with toys, eaten snacks and danced and clapped to the music.
Another great day!!! Yay! Almost time to head home! Bet you really miss those sweeties at home right now!
