We are in Hangzhou, with a change of plans!

We arrived to Hangzhou at around 4 PM yesterday.  Our guide Savor was there to meet us with a sign in hand that said Stone Family.

We loaded into a mini van and drove to the hotel.  We passed some very large new homes on the way.  There are single family homes that are for the very wealthy.  After crossing the river, we saw homes that were for the less wealthy.  They were really high rise apartments.

We learned on our way to the hotel that we will not be getting Myah today, as we had been told.  There is one family that doesn't arrive early enough for us to get our babies today, so we will meet her at 9 AM tomorrow morning.  That is 8 AM Central time.

Our guide helped us get checked into our hotel and up to our room.   She gave us her # so we could call her if we needed anything.  We went next door to eat dinner last night.  There was an English menu but the translations were not very helpful.  I found 3 things that I knew what they were.  We had b-b-q pork and veggies.  It was pretty good.  We shared them and then went to a small market down the street to get some water and a few treats.

We came back to our room flipped through the tv channels and went to bed.  I took a sleep aid and went to sleep pretty fast.  I woke up at 3 AM, but this time was able to go back to sleep.  I did not sleep solid, but was in and out of sleep until 8 AM.  Far better then the last mornings.

Our guide will be at the hotel with another family in our group in about 30 minutes.  I think we will head to the lobby to meet them and then see if our guide will be able to take us to see any sights today or if we are on our own.

For now, I think I will begin to prepare Myah's diaper bag and pick out the clothes that she will wear first.

I have said this before, but ask again, will you please continue to pray for Myah.  She is spending her final night in the only home that she has ever known.  Pray that she sleeps well and that she is ready for us tomorrow!

I will post pictures as soon as I can.

  2. Following your journey with excitement!!!!
Keep that camera out and ready, the babies show up when you LEAST expect it!!!
And, don't be too quick to change her out of her clothes. It will be the only thing she comes with that is familiar to her and may be of great comfort. You will have LOTS of days to dress her cutely! There have been some families that leave them in their clothes til the next day.
Have fun and prayers be with you!!!!
